Gela Potskhishvili

is internationally acknowledged to be one of the outstanding dancers of our time.   

In 1984 Gela Potskhishvili got enrolled in the Academy of Georgian National Ballet. In 1995 he began to dance on the stage of the Georgian National Ballet Theatre and quickly became the leading artist of the troupe. In 1999, he successfully completed his full program majoring in choreography of classical ballet, folk, characteristic and modern dances.  

With his impressive and original performances, Gela soon succeeded in his career - as the member of the troupe he danced on the stages of many outstanding theatres around the world. 

As the winner of the most prestigious international prizes, Gela Potskhishvili has been dancing on the stages of the world's leading theatres.  

With the experience gained during the 23 years' dancing and his innovative approach to the art of dance, Gela Potskhishvili became one of the popular choreographers, who staged various ballets, modern and traditional shows, all of them deserving international recognition and sympathy. 

Gela Potskhishvili has staged the following choreographic performances:  

“Carmen” on the music by George Bize and the synthesis of Spanish folk music; 

Suite “ Lunar sonata” on the motives of Lunar Sonata by  Beethoven;  

Short story- 'Adam and Eva', music by Davit Evgenidze.  

Dance variations on Charles Chaplin theme – music by Chaplin;  

A tango mix ' Beggar and Rich Woman' on folk tango music;  

Georgian romantic ballet - Georgian Traditional performance on Georgian folk music;  

World dance rhapsody  - mix of world folk and classical music;  

“Sinatra Suite” on Frank Sinatra’s songs  and many others.
